Casting Opportunities

For each role we are looking for an initial expression of interest. We will then invite individuals to submit a self-tape. From here, a shortlist will be invited to attend a recall audition in Glasgow with the writer and director on 24th September 2026.

The project is an 8 episode audio musical drama due for release from May 2027. 

Our policy is that trans actors of any gender can play any role they feel comfortable playing. We strongly encourage trans actors of all genders to apply to any roles that interest them. 

Similarly, we strongly encourage people of colour to apply to any roles that interest them. We prioritise QTIPOC applicants at all stages of the audition process.

Lead Roles

• Oscar (Oscar Wilde), Playing age 30-50, Dublin or RPAccent. Character uses He/Him pronouns. We welcome auditions from all ethnicities for this role. Bass - Strong singing required. (Featured soloist in 4 songs and providing additional harmonies on 3 other tracks)

• Bosie (Lord Alfred Douglas), Playing age 20-35, ScottishAccent (Any), Character uses He/Him pronouns. We welcome auditions from all ethnicities for this role. Tenor with Strong Falsetto - Strong Singing required. (Soloist in at least 3 songs and providing additional harmonies on 3 other tracks)

• Ted (Edward Carpenter), Playing age 30-50, Northern English Accent. Character uses He/Him pronouns. We welcome auditions from all ethnicities for this role. Baritone with strong Folk voice required, (Soloist in at least 3 songs and providing additional harmonies on 3 other tracks)

• Edith (Edith Cooper), Playing age 20-40, RP or Scottish Accent. Character uses She/Her pronouns. We welcome auditions from all ethnicities for this role. Alto/Mezzo - Strong Singing required (Soloist in at least 3 songs and providing additional harmonies on 3 other tracks)

Smaller Featured Roles

• Kit Goddard/George Merrill, Playing age -25-40, London/RP & Northern English Accents (Two distinct accents to differentiate characters required). Characters use He/Him pronouns. We welcome auditions from all ethnicities for this role. Tenor - Strong Singing required, (Featured soloist in two songs, backing vocalist in one song with occasional recorded dialogue throughout the series.)

• Daniel Dunglas Home/Agdistis, Playing Age 25-40, Scottish or American accent for Daniel Dunglas Home. Any other distinct accent for Agdistis (RP/Mediterranean/European/Other). These characters were historically genderqueer. Trans actors of all identities are encouraged to apply. Any Voice type - Strong Singing required, (Featured soloist in two songs, backing vocalist in one song, with occasional recorded dialogue throughout the series.)

Key Dates:

Rehearsal - 28th Jan - 3rd Feb 2027

Recording - 4th - 27th Feb 2027 (Including two Saturdays - 20th & 27th Feb)

Release date: June 2027

Lead actors will be expected to attend 5 days of music rehearsal, 7 days of dialogue recording and up to 8 days of song recording, for a maximum total of 20 working days. Rehearsal & Dialogue recording days will be 8 hr days. Song recording days will be broken down into 3hr sessions with max 2 sessions a day. 

Music rehearsals will take place 28th January- 3rd Feb (not including the weekend), dialogue recording will take place 4th-12th Feb (not including weekends). Song recording scheduling is TBC but lead actors will be needed for at least 4 sessions between 16th -  27th February. 

Smaller roles (Kit/George & Home/Agdistis) will be required for 1 day of music rehearsal, one day of dialogue recording and a half day of song recording. Scheduling will try to ensure these days are as close together as possible between the 3rd & 19th of February.

Contract Type:

Paid Contract. Contract rates are based on Equity, MU and standard Audio Drama rates. 

Lead Actors:

Rehearsal Rate: £631 for 1 week

Dialogue Recording Rate: £217 per day

Singing Recording: £135 per session

Smaller Roles:

Rehearsal Rate: £139 day rate

Dialogue Recording Rate: £217 per day

Singing Recording: £135 per session
