Mental Health and Wellbeing

Sanctuary Queer Arts is committed to supporting those we work with in terms of mental health and wellbeing. We recognise that the arts offers a space to be your unique self, explore your identity and form, challenge and express your throughts, feelings, attitudes and opinions.

Being open in any process, as an artist or audience member, can be an exposing experience so, with our desire to ensure safety in all our spaces, we have developed underpinning resources and support across our work.

Throughout our pilot year we worked with Pure Potential Scotland and Saerlaith Uaid Ní Dhuibhir to build a support system for those we engaged with.

We continue to offer support and commit to ensuring this proivision is offered to all staff and participants.

We would like to thank Youth Theatre Arts Scotland for their support throught the Grants for Youth Theatre fund and Employee Assistance Programme for their support in helping us shape this part of our practice.

As part of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Research we have created a directory of assorted support services. You can access this document by clicking below.
